Day 2 in England

After a day of exploring Horley and a early night we were over our jet lag and ready to continue on our journey. After a big breakfast in the dinning room we set off early in the morning walking down a side street, the owner of the Gaisnborough Lodge told us about,  pulling our suitcases behind us.  The side street led  directly to the local train station

We had to wait until the ticket window opened because the  vending machine would not take our visa card.  As a result we missed the first train but with tickets in hand boarded the next train and we were on our way to London.

We had reserved a room at the Park Lodge Hotel, in Bayswater. The hotel was on the outskirts of London and near the famous Hyde Park and all we had to do was find it.
We arrived in London at the Victoria Train Station.  Victoria Station is like all stations full of people going here and there, trains, subways and buses going every where and  we had to find out how to get to Bayswater.  We found the information booth who directed us to the right subway and recommended we buy a 7 day circle pass which we could use on all the subways for the next week.  I wasn't sure if this was a good deal or not but bought one for each of us anyway.  Later this turned out to be a good thing.

We took the subway to Bayswater and were surprised when we got off to be on a long street full of restaurants, bars and tourist souvenir stores.  The street was cramped with people many like us pulling their suitcases Following the directions the hotel had provide we eventually found it two streets away from the main street on a street full of hotels, backpackers and boarding houses.

After checking in we went out to eat and make out plans for the next day.  We found a nice little corner bar and were surprised to find that they do not have waiters or waitress.  You place your order for food and drink  with the barmen and tell him what table number you are sitting at. When the food was i ready he would bring it to you.  We found all the bars in England operated this way.
